How does booking work?
It’s short. You tell me about the day, I come back with availability and a number, we plan it, I photograph it, and you get a gallery. Here are the steps.
What do I send first?
The date, the venue, the hours, and roughly how many people. If you can say what the photos are for, that helps. That’s enough for a real number in one reply, and I read every message myself and reply within a business day.
What do you send back?
I’ll tell you if I’m free that day and what it costs, using the booking blocks: two hours, a half day or a full day. If the job doesn’t fit neatly, I’ll ask a bit more about what you need delivered, how fast, and your budget range, and I’m happy to get on the phone and talk it through.
How does a date get held?
We sign a contract and an invoice, and once the invoice is paid, the day is blocked. A 50% deposit is due up front, and it’s non-refundable, even if you pay in full ahead of time. By booking the date you’re asking me to save it, block any travel or other contingencies around it, and say no to anyone else who asks for it. That’s what the deposit covers.
How do we plan the day?
I ask for the full shot list from you or whoever owns the day, the schedule, and anything tied to a specific time or place. I’d like one person to reach during the day, and often I set up a text or chat group with the people who need highlights. If you don’t have a shot list, here’s what goes on one.
What happens on the day?
I arrive early, about an hour and a half to two hours before, and set up. Here’s how a full day runs, and here’s what can go sideways and how I plan for it.
When does the gallery arrive?
A private gallery at full resolution, usually in one to two weeks. If you need photos sooner, say so up front. Here’s how fast photos come back.
Where I work
I’m based in Northern Virginia and most of my work is around DC, so inside the DC metro there’s no travel line on your budget. I also travel for clients.
Ready to start
Send me the date and the venue. I’ll come back with an answer.
