Photographing a sales kickoff or all-hands

What matters most at a kickoff or all-hands?

Knowing when the big moments happen. I want the schedule, and I want to know which moments are the hero images: the keynote, the announcement, the room reacting. Those are the frames your team will use all year, so I plan the day around them.

Can I get team portraits out of the same day?

Yes, and it’s one of the best reasons to book a photographer for a kickoff. Everyone’s in one place, so it’s a good chance to photograph your team. I look for a quiet moment in the day, a break or a stretch between sessions, and set up a corner. Every time I do portraits I use the Hasselblad, so these are different from the event coverage.

If you want to do this, tell me before the day so we can plan where and when. Here’s how portraits for a whole team run.

What if the team needs photos for social media during the event?

Tell me exactly what you need and when. If someone needs images for social at a specific time, we schedule a short window for it, and I deliver them straight from the camera. I shoot most events on Fujifilm, so a finished-looking first edit is ready right away. See how fast event photos come back.

What should I tell the photographer first?

Where I work

I’m based in Northern Virginia and most of my work is around DC, so inside the DC metro there’s no travel line on your budget.

What to send me
