Can we get photos the same day?
Yes, if you ask for them. Same-day highlights are something I do, and it helps to know ahead of time.
Why post the same day?
Because that’s when people care most. Attendees are still in the room, or on the train home, and they’ll share a photo they’re in while the event is still the thing they’re talking about.
A week later, everyone’s moved on.
Which photos make the same-day set?
A small handful that tell the day.
- The room full, early.
- Your headline speaker, mid-sentence.
- The group photo, if there is one.
- Faces. People share the photo they’re in.
The rest comes with the full gallery.
How do we plan for it?
Tell me before the event, and tell me who’s posting. Then agree on a time for the handoff, like a break in the afternoon or the end of the program. That way your social person knows exactly when to look.
When does the full gallery come?
Usually in one to two weeks, depending on the event and how many photos there are.
What event photography costs is on one page. The event planner’s photo toolkit helps with the brief. I’ve photographed a lot of Capitol Hill days at DC summits, and more of that work is on Conferences.
