Harvest at Capstone Vineyards

Cold dew on the ground, the whole vineyard quiet, and then the golden light came up.
A friend of more than ten years asked me to photograph the harvest at Capstone Vineyards in Linden.

What this was

I got the call and said yes right away. Riding the vineyard on an ATV at sunrise is hard to beat, and the quiet before the crew gets going is something you have to be there for.

Most people never see how a bottle of wine gets made. I got to watch the harvest, where it starts: the picking, the bins, the tractor bringing it in. It's a lot of work by a lot of people, and I was glad to be there for it.
