What are gala photos for?
A gala is about raising money for something you care about. The photos should help with that, during the night and long after it.
How do photos help on the night?
A little joy goes a long way. Guests love seeing themselves dressed up and having a good time, and it makes the night feel like an occasion. Same-day highlights are there if you ask for them.
Which photos do donors respond to?
The ones they’re in. Months later, when fundraising writes to ask again, a photo from the night says: you were there, you care about this, and here’s what it helped do.
That’s a much warmer ask than a form letter.
How do we cover sponsors?
Tell me who they are before the night. Their table, their logo, their people at the mic. Sponsors want to see that they were part of it, and you’ll want to show them next year.
What about the paddle raise?
Plan for it. Tell me when it’s coming so I’m in place for the room, the hands going up and the person on stage calling it.
For the program itself, the awards night guide has the details. A full day on site is $5,200, and what event photography costs covers the rest. More of my gala work is on Galas.
