Why photograph the booth?
You paid for the space, the build, the shipping and everyone’s hotel. The photos are what’s left when it’s packed up.
They go in the recap to leadership, the pitch for next year’s show, and the posts while you’re still on the floor.
When’s the best time?
Twice. Before the doors open, for the booth itself, lit and clean with nobody in it. Then during the busiest stretch on the floor, for your team talking with people.
What should we get?
- The booth wide from the aisle, empty.
- The same view, busy.
- Your team in real conversations with visitors.
- Demos, with the person watching in the frame.
- Anyone from your team on a stage or a panel.
- A team photo before the floor opens, while everyone still looks fresh.
Do we need the show’s permission?
Check the exhibitor manual. Some shows have rules about outside photographers, or need a badge for them. Your show contact will know, and it’s better sorted the week before than at the door.
How soon can we post?
Same-day highlights if you ask for them, so the posts go out while the show’s still on. The full gallery generally comes back in one to two weeks.
I’m based in Loudoun and I’ve worked in Chantilly, DC and National Harbor. More is on Conferences, and what event photography costs walks through the rest.
