Start with where it's going

A portrait for a keynote slide isn't the same picture as one for a book jacket. We start with the use and work back to the light, the place and the frame.

In your world

I can photograph you in your office, your workshop, wherever the work happens.

Or against nothing

Sometimes the job wants the person and nothing else. A clean ground, one light, and the face doing all the work. I do those too.

How a session goes

I show you the first frames on an iPad as we go, so you see what I see. I'll tell my best dad jokes until you stop posing and a real smile shows up, then change the light or the angle until you like what you're looking at. It's not the DMV. You pick the portrait you want, and you're not stuck with one you don't. Most people find theirs within a handful of frames, and if you want more, I'm glad to keep going.

What you get

A short set of retouched frames chosen with you, at full resolution.

Where do we do it?

Wherever the portrait is going to be used from. Your office, a room that says something about the work, or a studio setup I bring with me. The location is part of the picture, so we choose it together.

How long is a session?

An hour or two.

How many pictures do I get?

A short set of retouched frames, chosen with you. Usually three to six.

Can it be more than a portrait?

Yes. A speaker needs a frame for the slide and one for the program. A founder needs one for the announcement and one for the site. We plan the set around where it's going.
