I've worked in Bethesda. Downtown is small and dense, and most of what happens there happens within a few blocks of the Metro.

Events

Bethesda is associations, healthcare groups and the firms that work with the big medical campuses up Wisconsin Avenue. The events are board meetings, member dinners, advisory days and receptions, mostly in hotel meeting rooms and restaurant private rooms downtown.

Small rooms

A private dining room for forty is a different job than a ballroom. I work close and quiet, without flash in anyone's face, and get the speaker, the table and the handshake after.

Do you charge travel to Bethesda?

No. Bethesda is inside the DC metro.

Can you cover a dinner that's mostly sitting?

Yes. A seated dinner is about faces and toasts. I stay out of the sightlines and catch the speeches and the table talk.
