I've photographed in Alexandria plenty. It's full of national associations, and every one of them holds meetings, dinners and a gala.

Events
Alexandria has two kinds of rooms. In Old Town they're old: brick, low ceilings, historic houses and ballrooms by the water. Around Carlyle and Eisenhower it's newer hotels and office conference centers. I photograph galas and association conferences in both.
Old rooms
Historic rooms are beautiful and dark. I bring fast lenses and keep the flash low, so the candlelight and the brick still look like themselves in the pictures.
Team portraits
For an association staff or a firm on King Street, I set up portraits for your team right in the office, usually by the best window you've got.
Questions I get
Do you charge travel in Alexandria?
No. Old Town is inside the DC metro, so there's no travel line on the quote.
Can you shoot a reception on the waterfront?
Yes. It's lovely at sunset, and the wind off the river is real, so we'll do the group photo before the light goes.
