Event photographer, Arlington, Virginia
Arlington
I've worked all over Arlington. It sits between home and the District, and a lot of the work people call DC actually happens on this side of the river.

Events
Arlington is offices stacked on top of Metro stops. Rosslyn and Ballston are towers full of associations, consultancies and defense firms, and Crystal City and National Landing keep filling up with tech. So the events are briefings in a building's top-floor conference center, receptions with the monuments out the window, and meetings in the hotels by the airport. I cover company events and conferences here the same way I do anywhere: the program, the room, and the people still talking in the hallway after.
Team portraits
Plenty of offices here have a lobby with some character or a high floor looking across the river. That's where I'd set up portraits for your team, with your own space behind everyone instead of a gray sheet.
On the day
Most buildings run a security desk and a garage under the tower. Send my name to the front desk the day before and tell me which garage, and I'll be early.
Questions I get
Do you charge travel in Arlington?
No. It sits between home and the District, well inside the DC metro.
Can you work a room with a view?
Yes. The view is half the reason people book those rooms, so it goes in the pictures. The light outside drops fast in the evening, so I'll ask to do the group photo while there's still some.
