I've photographed events in Tysons. It's an office park that turned into a city, and plenty of the region's big companies have a floor here.

Events

The work here is corporate: customer summits, sales kickoffs, partner days and all-hands, in the hotel ballrooms around the malls and the conference centers inside the towers. I cover company events and conferences from the first session to the reception.

Up high

Some of the best rooms in Tysons are on the top floor. Glass on three sides is beautiful and tricky, so I time the group photos for when the light outside and inside match.

On the day

Tysons garages are a maze. Send me the level and the door, or I'll come in on the Silver Line.

Tysons is in Fairfax County, and so is Reston.

Do you charge travel to Tysons?

No. Tysons is inside the DC metro and close to home.

Can you shoot a sales kickoff that's mostly slides?

Yes. I get the speakers with their slides readable, the room reacting, and the awards at the end.
