I've photographed events in Reston. It's a planned town with lakes and paths on one side of the Toll Road and glass headquarters on the other.

Events

The companies here are tech, government contractors and a few national associations. Their events are product days, customer conferences, all-hands and awards. The hotels around Reston Town Center take most of the big ones, and the pavilion and plaza take the outdoor ones all summer. Both are company events I cover.

Indoors and out

Reston is one of the few places around here where a keynote and a company picnic can happen the same week a block apart. Fast lenses for the ballroom, a plan for the sun on the plaza.

Team portraits

A lot of offices here have big windows with trees outside. That's where I'd set up portraits for your team.

Nearby

Reston is in Fairfax County. Tysons is a few stops east.

Questions I get

Do you charge travel to Reston?

No. It's just up the road from home.

Can you do an outdoor event on the plaza?

Yes. The midday sun is harsh there, so I'll find shade for the posed groups and shoot the crowd in the open.
